“Work Better Together: Introduction to Liberating Structures”
In this hands-on, interactive program, Mike Fisher, Business and Technology Agility Transformation Coach, Trainer, and Consultant, and Host of Indianapolis Liberating Structures MeetUp, will engage attendees in an introduction to learning Liberating Structures – used to disrupt conventional patterns in how we work together.
When you feel included and engaged, do you do a better job? Do you think teams in which people work well together produce much better results? Have you noticed the best ideas often come from unexpected sources? Do you want to work at the top of your intelligence and give the same opportunity to others? If YES, this is the kind of organization and community that people want to be part of. Liberating Structures help make this happen.
Conventional facilitation and collaborating structures are either too inhibiting (presentations, status reports and managed discussions) or too loose and disorganized (open discussions and brainstorms) to creatively engage people in shaping their own future. They frequently generate feelings of frustration and/or exclusion and fail to provide space for good ideas to emerge and germinate. This means that huge amounts of time and money are spent working the wrong way. More time and money are then spent trying to fix the unintended consequences.
Liberating Structures offers an alternative approach and design to how people work together with a menu of 30+ microstructures to replace or complement conventional facilitation and collaboration practices. These structures make it possible to build the kind of organization that everybody wants. They are designed to include everyone in shaping next steps.

- Apply 30+ methods to facilitate engagement and collaboration from everyone in meetings and brainstorming sessions

About PMICIC Monthly Programs
PMICIC has regular monthly programs on the 3rd Wednesday of each month with the exception of November and December that are on different days. Each program revolves around a central topic integral to successful project management. Topics include both Agile and traditional project management and address at least one of the three domains that make up the PMI Talent Triangle: Technical, Leadership, and Strategic & Business Management. Topics will be posted once we confirm the speaker.
In addition to the presentation, attendees enjoy the opportunity to interact with and network with all levels of Project Professionals from across Indy.
Monthly Programs are open to both PMICIC members and non-members.
