As Agile coaches, we get pretty frustrated with poor agile practices. We have even formalized anti-patterns with “ScrumBut”, #AgileFail , or the handy “that’s not agile”. Moreover, when teams and executives get impatient for the results we promised, many of us simply say “well, you’re just doing it wrong”.
But what if successful transformation comes, only after failing through several barriers? What if some people can begin iterating, only after they see a complete specification? What if some managers are able to let go, only after they first dictate daily assignments ? What if some orgs can embrace feature teams, only after they first do WaterScrumFall?
In this mind-blowing crucial conversation, you will learn seven research-backed patterns that challenge your understanding of how to achieve agility. Namely, (1) those anti-patterns are the result of logical and reasonable choices, (2) they produce meaningful outcomes, AND (3) the next level of agility is just around the corner with simple steps.
Let’s be honest, our 20 year revolution against dysfunction has often spilled over into criticism of those who are actually trying. Come to this workshop, and practice a more positive, structured thinking model for reframing the conversation from “that’s not agile” to “that’s a good start”. #NoSuchThingAsFailedTransformation
- How labeling agile anti-patterns actually impedes the journey
- How to take the next step past a transformation barrier
- How to reframe transformation barriers into adjustments
