[IN PERSON] Responding to Covid While Executing an International IT Project

Ways of Working

Managing an IT project to bring up a new supply-chain fulfillment center in Europe was going to be hard enough. Then Covid happened. This presentation will share how a 35-person globally-distributed team of IT professionals absorbed the impact from a global pandemic, accelerated timelines delivering 3 months early, and got mentioned in Labcorp’s Q2’21 earnings Report. Michael will discuss with his Labcorp peers how the project team managed this “Giga-Risk” from early tracking, reassessing all deliverables, and creative problem-solving to get this Enterprise-Critical project across the finish line. We will then “open the floor” for guests to share their experiences dealing with Covid in their efforts to circulate best-practices.

Key Takeaways:

  • Project Resilience Is Team Resilience – the strength of the team sets the stage for what is possible.
  • Early risk identification and scenario “What If” discussions - driving risk mitigation and contingency planning with creative discussions.
  • “The Plan is the Plan...” - The value of projecting consistency while the world panics
