About Special Olympics Indiana
Special Olympics Indiana is a nonprofit organization that is part of the global Special Olympics movement, using sport, health, education, and leadership programs to empower people with intellectual disabilities and end discrimination. Since its founding in 1969, Special Olympics Indiana has grown to serve more than 19,000 athletes and unified partners across the state, supported by nearly 8,500 coaches and volunteers.
The organization provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in over 20 Olympic-style sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities-at no cost to participants.
