Q1 Recap: Building Momentum and Community in 2025

As we close out the first quarter of 2025, I’m proud to share what we’ve accomplished together and extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers, members, and partners who have made it all possible.

This year began with purpose: a renewed commitment to delivering value to our members, creating opportunities for connection, and leading with integrity and strategy. We set out to rebuild trust, strengthen operations, and grow our impact—and I’m excited to say: we are well on our way.

Chapter Highlights from Q1

🟣 Volunteer Orientations & Kickoff Events
We welcomed new and returning volunteers with energy and excitement at our January 11 orientation, followed closely by our Annual Meeting and 2025 Kickoff on January 15, where we saw a strong turnout and real engagement. We hosted additional volunteer orientations on February 1 and March 1, ensuring our new volunteers are supported, connected, and ready to make a difference.

🟣 Strategic Planning & Governance
Our Board of Directors held a strategic planning retreat on January 25, setting a strong foundation with our new 3-Year Strategic Plan and 2025 Annual Plan—both of which have been reviewed and adopted by our full chapter leadership team and shared with our wider volunteer base. We’re also finalizing a bylaws revision to stay in compliance with PMI Global and ensure our chapter remains positioned for long-term sustainability and growth.

🟣 Professional Development Events

  • On February 6, we hosted Wellingtone for a dynamic Lunch & Learn on the new Microsoft Planner.
  • On February 19, we welcomed 40+ attendees to Ryan Fireprotection for a highly-rated session on change management with Pete van Overwalle.
  • On March 19, we celebrated Women’s History Month with our first-ever Women’s Panel, welcoming over 60 in-person and virtual attendees, and receiving a remarkable 4.77/5 satisfaction score—a clear signal that our community wants more programming like this featuring local practitioners.

🟣 Volunteer Leadership in Action
On February 22, our full chapter leadership team spent a half day together getting aligned and organized for the year ahead. I’m deeply inspired by the energy, care, and collaboration I’ve seen across every committee.

🟣 PMP Study Group Launch
We proudly launched our first PMP study group cohort, supporting 20 PMP candidates as they prepare for success. From test prep to motivation, this effort is just one way we’re investing in our members’ career-long learning journey.

🟣 Operational Excellence
We’ve completed and submitted our annual charter renewal with PMI Global and continue to make progress on strengthening internal systems, technology tools, and communications. As President, I’ve taken a personal interest in supporting our Events, Corporate Outreach, Technology, and Marketing committees, and remain committed to their success—as well as the success of every volunteer team working behind the scenes.
